I did it exactly as described in WitchDoctor's posting "Sissybar removal and other tricks. - WD 1-08-2001 (1)". It was easy, it looks good and reduces body weight by 4 percent. The only thing I still need to do is finish the rear signal lights. Mine is also a 98.
